The face of the moon was in shadow

Almost before we knew it, we had left the ground. All their equipment and instruments are alive.Mist enveloped the ship three hours out from port. The spectacle before us was indeed sublime.A red flair silhouetted the jagged edge of a wing.

YOUR AIRPLANE · YOUR INSTRUMENT RATING

Build proficiency
in your own cockpit.

The aircraft you know. The flying you plan to do.

Earn your instrument rating in the airplane you already know and intend to fly. Our 10-day own-aircraft program combines a focused structure with dedicated, one-on-one CFII instruction.

A PERSONAL INVESTMENT IN YOUR FLYING

Learn it here.
Use it on your next flight.

Training in your own airplane lets you build procedures around the panel, controls, checklists, and performance you will use after the rating. The learning continues into your everyday flying.

Your instructor tailors ground lessons, flight exercises, and practical-test preparation to your starting point. We work together to build the instrument scan, avionics understanding, and judgment behind confident IFR flying.

TAILORED TO YOUR AIRPLANE

A familiar cockpit.
A stronger instrument pilot.

Know your equipment

Train with your actual displays, navigators, autopilot, and backup instruments. Build a clear understanding of how the systems support the flight.

Develop repeatable habits

Practice configurations, checklists, power settings, and approach setup in the aircraft you intend to keep flying.

Plan beyond the rating

Connect procedures and weather decisions to the trips you expect to make, with proficiency as the goal.

BEFORE WE SCHEDULE

Let’s review the fit.

Tell us your aircraft type, avionics, training location, instrument experience, and preferred timing. We’ll review suitability and the preparation needed for an accelerated course.

  • Private Pilot Certificate and a passed instrument written test
  • 15 hours of simulated or actual instrument time
  • 50 hours cross-country PIC time
  • Aircraft airworthiness, IFR equipment, and records review

Checkrides are coordinated in advance with our DPEs, subject to readiness and operating conditions.
