Virginia IFR Academy, the instrument-training program of Virginia Specialty Flight Training, helps qualified private pilots earn their instrument rating through a focused, one-on-one accelerated program at Warrenton-Fauquier Airport (KHWY).

Train with a dedicated CFII, a clear daily plan, and the continuity of an immersive program. Each session connects ground knowledge with flight practice, helping you build sound judgment and the confidence to use your rating in the real world.

Our 10-day accelerated instrument-rating program combines one-on-one CFII instruction, focused ground and flight training, modern Garmin-equipped aircraft, and mock-checkride preparation. We coordinate your practical test in advance with our DPEs, with readiness and proficiency guiding every step.

Our Cessna 182S rents for $265 per Hobbs hour, wet, with no daily minimums. CFII instruction is $100 per hour. Rental is subject to checkout and approval.
